Default Noises after installing JBA LT headers

I had JBA LT headers installed on my car. I just got it back last night. This morning while driving it, I notice a noise. I’m going to try to describe it but I’m not very good stuff like this[8D]. When I floor it, it sound like someone is balling up sheets of tinfoil under the dash. It only there when the car is in grear.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't have headers, but I have heard of the new headers coming in contact with the frame, if new motor mounts aren't installed. The new motor mounts limit torque flex, thereby avoiding contact.

Hope this helps.

I don't know about the JLT's, but my SLP's never came into contact with the frame. However, ine did make noise at first as well. I found the problem to be the connecting bands between the x-pipe and the headers being loose. I really had to tighten them down to make it go away. Even then it still does it occasionally.

I have some noises when I go over harsh bumps, but my suspension is fairly stiff, so that probably doesn't help......if the noise is coming from under the hood it could be te header hitting the steering column...

Make sure your x or h pipe hangers aren't contacting the bolts for the transmission mount. They'll rattle like crazy with just the slightest contact. From your description however...it sound like the dreaded "D" word...you know, detonation....

Detonation after installing headers? That would make the header install seem pretty unrelated...did you install the headers yourself?

No, I had a shop do it. He check the a/f ratio, it think he said it 12.5/1. I would think if there was a detonation problem that I feel it. I'm going back to the shop in a week, so they can check and retighten the exhaust.
