Default Question about trunk release

Has anyone else noticed there isn't a trunk release from inside the car. If you don't have the keys, you can't relese the trunk from inside the car. I hope I just haven't found the release yet. If Ford didn't put one in the cars, then that is stupid. Hopefully I am the one who is stupid.

There is no trunk release, except on the key fob.

Well, technically you could fold down the rear seats, crawl in to the trunk, and pull the saftey release

Ford apparently did all they could do to make the car affordable (Thank You Ford!) I assume that if you are inside the car, you have your key with you? Walla! An inside the car trunk release!

No release from inside the car isn't a bad thing. Think extra security from someone popping your trunk internally and stealing your 2000 dollar system.

what you ca do if you want is to at a botton to trip the relay for the trunk. the loom is on the pass side at the smart juntion box. it is a ground the white/violet wire goes from behind the juntion box to the fuse panel under the hood. so you can splice into it if you want run to a switch anywhere and ground from the switch. i hope this helps i guess also if you would rather use a hot wire you could splice in the the wire going to the latch pink /orange its under the door sill pass side

NICE... THANKS...

I saved all that on my drive for future reference... I will be installing my own "Trunk Release Button".

Do you think that Ford would do it since I am not a fixer at all. If not, who could do it?

Why not save all the hassles of wiring and just buy another remote? Go out on ebay and get a new one for $20. You can program the new remote to work with your car. Then, just keep it in the arm-rest or glove box. Either loose, or velcro it inside somewhere. You'll only need to replace the battery about every 18-24 months! Easy trunk button!
