Default Tachrometer help

Im in an 07 GT - Automatic.

I wanted to purchase a Tahcrometer with shift light. I usually drive in D but often I will put it in first, hit second and third then drive for when I really want to lay downmy ponies.

My question is (because im not the most technical person) will a tachrometer / shift light still work with automatic transmission?

thanks in advance.

Sure it will, it's merely counting RPM and will flash when it's programmed to. It's totally a motor thing and nothing to do with gearbox.

not that there's anything wrong with an auto, but if you wanted to shift, you shoulda gotten a manual
