Another new guy checks in
First off, just wanted to say a big Thank You to all the posters in this group. You all were a big help when I was learning what I was getting into before taking the plunge.
I grew up bouncing around in the back seat of my mother's Red '67 Mustang. Had a red '69 Mustang (with the 302) back in '81 when I was 18. After that, never thought much about the new Mustangs, nice cars, and fast, but just not for me, until I noticed one of the 2005s on the road about two months ago (Yeah, I hadn't even heard of the redesign before then!). Damn - it was like everything that was good about my youth came rushing back in an instant. Got my GT two weeks ago, Red of course! This is seriously the most fun I've EVER had driving a car.
Thanks to this group, I knew I was into a few minor problems with the car before buying. I had hoped I would somehow be spared, but, oh well. Looks like, at minimum, I have the gas tank issue -- and a pretty severe water leak on the passenger side. The whole passenger side footwell fills with water in a good rain. 375 miles on it and its going into the dealer this Monday.
It's pretty much a testament to Ford getting the look and feel, and *most* of the engineering of this car dead on that, despite these irritating issues, most of us wouldn't want to drive any other car, I know I still love mine. The car makes just driving to work into a major adventure, not only that, it's been 20 years since I found people standing around my car admiring it when I came out of a store - and hey, I kinda like it!
P.S. If anyone's got any info on the water leak, I'd sure like to hear from you.

Nice ride for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome!!!!
I just picked up my '07 and have just turned 200 miles. It sure makes the drive to work more enjoyable.
I like the Redfire-very nice car.
Have fun and don't take what some others say to seriously.

Guys..guys...guys... check out when this thread was posted! It was over a year and a half ago! This thread was revived (brought back to life) because I mentioned it in the "ELECTRICAL PROBLEM/LEAK ISSUE" thread.
