Default Completely shaved car?

I was shootin the **** with my body guy (the car's still there), and was pondering having the whole car shaved.. Has anyone here shaved the doorhandles on their car? What I'd like to know is:

A) Can you retain the use of the factory remote to pop the doors? Like, press the button once, the driver's door pops, press it twice, both doors pop?

B) Did you put a fail-safe in? Like a cable that pops a door or something, in case your battery is dead? It'd sure suck to not be able to get into the car b/c of a dead battery..

Any thoughts on this?? The guy quoted me like $1500 including paint (for the doors and the trunk keyhole), and he said he'd have to try and figure out how to use the factory remote, but he thinks it can be done..

Yeah, I think I remember reading that.. Wasn't he the guy that bought the wrecked one and restored it and then never came back??

I was hoping to talk to someone on here that actually still posts that has shaved their car.. LOL

I believe the expression is... shaved?

Personally, I would leave the door handles. I think they blend real well with the car. The fact that they only have onekeyhole and it's integrated into the handle helps that a lot. But I'd shave everything else. I hate that frickin antenna base.

it's a pretty cool idea, but at the same time, i kind of like my door handles. i just don't like when people with long nails reach in too far into the door handle and scratch the area within. such a burn.

what i did, years ago to another car i owned....

shaved the handles, used my 12 channel viper alarm to pop the doors and relocated the battery to the trunk.i left the trunk keyhole alone, if i ever had a problem i could go in through the trunk and also i could access the battery incase it died on me.

it was a huge pain in the ***,you must use the good door poppers,do not try and use the cheaper ones, get the big mac daddy ones, and run a good size wire to it.

The antenna base is already shaved, as are the windshield washer nozzles. The antenna base cost me $600 to have shaved, and the washer nozzles were $100 (the hood was being repainted already, so there was no addition paint labor).

One Eye - that's a good idea to relo the battery to the trunk, but I hate that hole, too..

Wingman - I looked him up, he only shaved the decklid, not the doors..

the trunk would not be hard to extend a new cable, and maybe put it under the back bumper, you should definitly have a manual way to get in,the trunk is the easyist.
