Default Exhaust Tips????

I have an 07 GT/CS. It comes with the rolled tip exhausts. The exhaust tips are 3" (I think) and look kinda wimpy in the cut-outs in the CS rear bumper. This may be a stupid question, but if I went to a muffler shop and had them cut off the current tips and weld on some 4" rolled tips like come on the Ford Racing GTA's, would it affect the sound quality? I pretty sure it wouldn't make it any louder but I don't want it to sound tinny or buzzy. I like the current sound just fine. I don't want anything substantially louder and am considering just getting the GTAs. But this might be just as good at a lower cost.

Magnaflow make an exhaust tip that looks like the GTA tip and fits right over stock muffler exit. They are a very nice polished stainless tip..Last I saw GTA's were retailing around $325.00 a pair. The GTA's are sweeting sounding axleback's.
