do i need a tune?
I am getting Dynatech Long Tubes with X-pipe and High Flow Cats on Friday. I was wondering if I will need an updated tune than the one I already have for the C&L intake I got.
All of BamaChips Tunes already have the rear 02 sensors turned off so you should not get a code.
Doug said a new mailorder tune isnt needed for headers.
My understanding is the PCM should "see" the increased loading from the higher MAF reading for a given rpm/throttle setting and reduce timing to a safe level for the increased charge density. Basically it will be in a different load cell. It will of course also increase fuel delivery to match the increased flow as well.
If I am mistaken Im sure one of the resident programming gurus will set us straight.

One other question, I've decided to get a new tune from bama to accomodate the new headers but I am not sure which one to pick....i was going to go with the "Race Tune File" but it says:
"BamaChips newest Race tune will further enhance the driveability of your new Mustang. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area I can write a tune that will bring the throttle responce to life. Enough so that I wouldn't recommend it for daily driving use as it may try to jump out from a stop and possibly even spin the tires. This wouldn't be good if you were beside a police car."
Now I am assuming this is being sarcastic when it says "I wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver" but i am not sure. Is this tune okay for a daily driver? or should I just get the single file tune for 93 performance?

it can be too much for the DD, depends on your driving style though, many people use it as the primary tune.
You can get but with headers without a new tune. A new tune can change the transport delay for the front O2s and that will eliminate the CEL that some people get
