Mine still light up and reflect the required limit so I'm good. Heres a picture in the day time. If done right they are fine.

I'm sure cops don't say anything. I'm talking about lawyers. If someone rearends you and notices that you blacked out your taillights, you're just asking for trouble. Nothing may come of it, but personally, I don't want to deal with it.

I just got pulled over last night and the sheriff said he pulled me over for the tinted windows and he didn't even give me ticket for that. I guess if it is done the right way you should be ok, I had mine painted by a auto paint shop I have 2 pairs one is the medium that is for everyday driving and a very dark for shows I actually bought one pair from Ebay for $35.00 plus shipping and it was almost new.

Also, if you are in an accident, odds are that the person that hit you will know very little about your car, and will probably think that your lights are stock, even with the tints... look at some of the other cars on the road and their tail lights. Just claim that they were already on your car when you bought it. (I'm not promoting lying lol)

ORIGINAL: StangMan001

I had the overlay kit but they didn't fit proper. So I bought a can of window tint spray and sprayed them a couple of coats then cleared them...turned out pretty good. Plus they are visible during the day. I've had the policeman behind me several times with no incidents.

you're kinda right about them blaming you for tinting your tail lights. on the other hand let me ask you this: if someone has their tail lights blacked out does thatmean that you can automatically rear end them and blame it on them? If your brake light fuse blows up and before you make it to the nearest auto zone somebody intentionally hits you is it automatically your fault? there's just too many cars around my area with blacked out lights and i think people wouldn't have them if it was like that. JMO but i could be wrong.

I don't want to get hit PERIOD. I want them to know that I am stopping, not wonder if I am. I like the way the tint looks, but the hassle of getting hit is bad enough without the blame getting thrown back at you. My 2 cents.
