Oil Additives??????
While researching a recommended oil for my manual transmission such as RP or Redline, I notice some people recommending PTFE additives. I was quite dismayed that people still think such "snake oil" additives like Slick 50 or Tufoil have some magical benifit to their engines. I don't see anybenefit to adding any sort of solid matter to my lubricants. Nowhere does any vehicle manufacture ever recommend adding teflon or nylon particulates to their engines, trannies, diff's etc.
Do a search online about these magic additives before investing in them and the possible destruction you may impart upon yourexpensive drivetrain.

Good thread...this will be interesting to see who chimes in and what they say! Based on the article you linked I would stay away from any additives in oil for the motor (other than proven ones like friction modifier for the rear diff and redline wetter for the coolant and FI applications). J
I used tufoil and it definately smoothed out the engine. But I stopped pretty quickly because oil companies these days build the oils extremely 'perfect', and altering it in any way can completely ruin its properties.
