Default Which guages to get?

I'm not entierly sure which guages I should be getting for my Saleen Dash pod which I'm about to buy. A supercharger is on the car and I have a 10 psi boost guage on the left but the right I'm not sure about. I was thinking that some of the things I can think of are already covered on the dash maybe, what does the engine detect?

I was deciding between exhaust temperature, lambda, cooland pressure and oil pressure.

Does the CEL come on if your coolant and oil pressure go down? Also how is a A/F guage usefull in detecting problems?

yes an A/F is almost a given i think. Have you thought about some aeroforce gauges? I am extremely happy with my interceptor.....Moose and several others have them also

Honestly these are the best guages I've ever seen..... I didn't know these existed and they are amazing really and meet pretty much anyones needs pretty well. If I had a lot of time on my hands I would use the LED warning light/shift light feature and put that into the backlighting system of the Saleen Pod, then hide the guage somewhere that is difficult to see, or maybe even put it on some sort of "pop" slide so it commes out of the dash. It would then be the ultimate guage in my application of getting a clean car that also is great all around...

I would make a system that is:

- Usable at the track

- Usable in emergencies.

- but hidden away for show and looking good in all day driving.

Unfortunatly that sort dreaming setup would be way too complicated to get done.

I said about A/F that I'm not sure it's the most important one as you only need it when tuning the car, but it's a little less useful while driving. yeah.

I just want something simple. (If I bought a second mustang by the way as a caveat to not take away from your post, it would have the interceptor mounted in the middle of the vent registers take notes other people.)

I added a Autometer boost and programmable shift light and I am very pleased with the results and use! A fuel pressure gauge might be pretty cool too. An A/Fgauge is useful if you are into tuning your car often.

i have fuel pressure, boost, and WB a/f. i think those are the most basic for a SC. i would not recommend innovate WB a/f bc thats what i have and will be replacing it soon. i'm having issues w/ it reading incorrectly, it works for a week or 2 then craps out, then i gotta trouble shoot and it works again. i think i'll be going w/ autometer WB digital.

I too am looking into which guages I will need. I have an 07 GT 5 speed and am going to install a supercharger this fall. besides a boost guage what other should I get? i am not doing any serious track racing just adding additional HP to my car. I see a fuel pressure is also good. what is a/f? (sorry if that seems stupid but everyone keeps mentioning it!).

A/F gauge is the most important in my opinion. Its always good to look at ever so often to see if everything is on track during idle and wot. My car recently stopped ideling at 14.7 af and started ideling lean, thanks to the gauge i spotted the problem before something bad could have happened. Took it to the shop and fixed the problem.

Not to highjack the thread but I wanted to ask not which but where are you all getting your gauges. Is everyone getting Autometer? Where are you purchasing them? How about other brands like Glowshift and Prosport gauges? I've also read many good things about the Interceptor ones. Any other brands people are using?

I have the Aeroforce guages mounted in Roush A/C vent mounts. Very clean looking. Am thinking about removing my SOS pillar mount that has 2 Dynotune guages in it as with these installed they do everything.
