Low RPM engine tick
I have noticed a low tick coming from the engine when i accelerate. Its more noticable when the car is cold and at a low rpm.
Especailly noticeable when i accelerate in fourth from below 2000 Rpms.
Any ideas anyone? i have a C&L street CAIon there too.

Likely an exhaust leak, either on the exhaust manifold or on the flange to the mid-h-pipe.
As the metal heats up and expands, it may be sealing up. With time, it will get worse.

^ I`m with 2cokeman.
Valve train clearances are only correct at full operating temp.
The SOHC design puts the lifters/followers up top where they`re more easily heard
Even "hot " you can hear somemechanical noise.
Fully warming up before "working" any engine is just good practice.
Takes longer to get 6 qts of oil up to temp then it does the coolant.
None of us can hear this "tick" but it`s probably normal.
Use quality oil, keep it clean and you`ll be fine.

EDIT: I`m not sure what you mean by "under" 2000 rpm or how hard you`re "pulling" but it`s important not to lug an engine, either cold or warm.
