Remote Start / Engine Shutoff

Remote Start / Engine Shutoff
The new mustangs have the engines that's specifically coded to the key right?
So, without the key in place, the motor won't start... can you still install a remote start kit on it? or does this not work because of the anti theft feature?
and if you can install a kit, any recomendations?

RE: Remote Start / Engine Shutoff
My brother's Acura has the same thing with the key. He installed a remote start in his car. He had to hide the valet key somewhere in the car close enough that the remote start transponder would read it and it starts up fine. Kind of an extra pain in the a$$, but I'm sure the same type of workaround will work in your stang.

Good question...
I don't know .. but Remote Start IS a Ford Factory option you can purchase, and the dealership indicates NO PROBLEM with getting it... I have Remote start added to my car on order.

RE: Remote Start / Engine Shutoff
I had to have the same thing installed on my wife's mini van. It's just a little box that you program with your key codes and it sends out a signal. As far as getting one from Ford you might shop around cause they used to be about twice as much as after-market and the after-market works just fine.
