Wrecks FTL
Ok guys, i just arrived home. Got in not so much a wreck, as it is a mishap. Was getting onto interstate, and on ramp is at a downward angle off of a hill, and mind you it is raining so hard the wippers are on full blast, and the windows are starting to fog and it's still hard to see. Well i started to turn and went slow then thought i was good, and then just went to like 3K, shifted to 2nd, then guess i hit a puddle or something but i felt it start sliding bad to the left, and to the left is off the side of a hill.
I tried not to jerk, but i did, then jerked again back to the left, then just hit the brakes and hoped for the best. I slide down the side of the hill, and looked to the right and all looked good, then i saw one of those small metal posts with a yellow reflector on it like they place on the side of the interstate and slide into it.
At first i just headed home and it took me a minute to realize that my passenger window was down. I thought i busted it but somehow i knocked it to roll down. Rolled that back up. Now i'm on the interstate, and it's getting so bad, for a good 50 feet, doing 55, i just started hydroplaning. I SLOWLY slowed down. I felt the car slowing drifting to the left again, and was too scared to touch the brake. Finally slowed down to like 40 and just rode it at 40 the rest of the way. Still was hard to see even at 40.
Got home and jumped out in the pouring rain, ran around to the passengar side and felt all up and down the car.Didn't feel any chips/cracks/etc. Then i rubbed the bumper and the top of it has a slight crack in it. I believe this to be the only damage upon quick inspection.
Just say going in the forums, FS area, what would a stock torch red GT (don't know if there is any difference between V6 and GT bumpers), bumper go for, around?

PICS.

The GT bumper is moulded for a tougher, lower look (and has dual cutouts), whereas the V6 bumper just ends cleanly (and only has one cut-out) at the bottom of the bumper.

First off I am sorry for your mishap and I hope everything goes OK for you.
Secondly when you loose traction and slide sidways its called "yaw". No matter the cause of the yaw do not hit the brakes or throttleright away, yaw+brakes=more yaw. Just point thefront tires where you want to go, coast, and make minimal corrections until you regain traction.
Lastly, you might as well upgrade your bumper if its toast, but I think take-offs are going for about $300.
Good luck

Not trying to preach, but 3K in 1st gear and 55 mph on highway are the things that stand out to me in your post. Not a good idea in a torrential downpour with a RWD car. Lessned leaned it seems. Gad it wasn't worse.
hope all is well man, i'm sure you learned your lesson though. If it was raining that hard you should have been going much slower. Next time if it's that bad and you can't see because the windows are fogged over and its a torrential downpour, my best advice would be to pull over until the rain lets up or you can unfog the windows. Good to hear the damage was minimal and that you are ok
