I ordered the MGW STS last week, but got a call from them last Monday saying that they didn't have a plate so they couldn't ship it until some time this week. Today i get a call from them and i get the shifter this Friday. I am so exited to put that sucker on. I got it with the White ****. Is going to look killer on my car.

Anybody that has the MGW STS can you put your insight on shifter and if its worth the money

 

I finally got mine yesterday, after about a month of waiting. Apparently they didn't have some parts for it for that long.

I will be installing probably next weekend. I'm excited, as people seem to love the shifter.

I got the black MGW shifter ball with the brushed aluminum.

 

I just installed mine a week or so ago. It takes some getting used to because it is very notchy but I do like it. You definitely know when you're in gear. To make life easy, make sure you read and understand TacoBill's installation writeup. If you do that, it will be an easy install.

 

does the MGW spring back to center (btw 3rd & 4th) when its in neutral like the stock one does?

 

Yes, it does spring back. It isa pretty stiff spring too. That is one of the things you'll have to get used to.

 

IMO its worth the money. Been living with it for about 6 months now. Still "notchy" but a little less than when brand new. It took a while to get both me and the settings configured to where I like them. Throw, **** height and angle can all be adjusted. At first I would miss the occasional 1-to-2 shift because the centering spring is so strong. But a little angle adjustment and just getting use to it solved that. Enjoy!

1 question though - if you already ordered it, isn't it a bit late to be sitting here asking if it's worth the money?? You already spent the cash, you'll find out Friday if it was worth it. LOL

 

I know what your saying exx but what i was really asking if my money went to a good choice over other shifters.I cant wait to have that sucker on

I have mine about 6 turns out and it's much better than stock. I usually keep my takeoff parts but the stock shifter went straight into the dumpster LOL[8D]

I'd like to get that brushed aluminum stalk and the black ball that someone above posted - just another mod in the never ending list LOL

 

Thats another thing i wanted to know. How many turns do you guys have your MGW. Is having it at 11 turns a good or bad idea? What would you recommend to have it on.
