So I ordered my car almost two weeks ago and my father plays a horrible trick on me. He tells me that some factory where the mustangs are supposedly made blew up or caught on fire today. So he heard on the radio...knowingly that he is messing with me so I act all cool like yeah whatever. But then it takes hold....DOUBT! So I give in and call the dealership and tell them my little story and they are like yeah ok...as they chuckle at me but hey it's all good... I knew I was falling into my dads trap and they would laugh but I just had to....I want my car!

So then the salesman tells me yeah your car is scheduled to be built May 5th...my jaw drops... SO FAR AWAY!!!!!!
Then he tells me we would see it two weeks later...

I can't wait anymore! it's already 2 weeks! they told me 5-6weeks.....and if it is as the salesman said that makes it more like 8 weeks!

Anyone else wait a long time on a custom order?

I mean sure, great, I can save more money but I don't really like waiting...especially not for something like this in which I have been saving for a year.

Hopefully my sanity doesn't wain to much.....

 

Yep, I have ordered a few cars over the years and the wait truly sucks. I don't think a single one came in when they said it would. [:'(] BTW.....kuddos to your dad......nice trick

And he's complaining about 5 weeks. You would have died then waiting when this car first came out and NO one could touch one for months without paying 5-10k over for it.

lol, your dad sounds like mine. In 93 I ordered a car (won't say which model to avoid ridicule). About the time it was due to arrive, I get home from school (College) and there is a message on the answering machine. It goes something like this. We received your car today, we had a little problem, it fell off the truck when it was being removed. Don't worry though, we'll get it fixed right up and have back to you in a couple of weeks. Of course I started fuming, I was headed out the door to tell the dealership what was going to happen and how. As I'm heading out, my dad is walking in from work, asks me where I'm going. I tell him the story and and he starts laughing. He said, listen to the message again and tell me if you recognize the voice. It was my cousin who my dad works with. My dad still talks about that one.

 

I hate waiting! I ordered an 00 ss camaro and it took 9 weeks! The wait was horrible

I got mine in October '04 and paid sticker for it...

 

lol i think if i had to wait that long i'd probably go with whatever was on the lot....or just died as you all say...luckily for me there are so many things going on in my life that i just focus on that...my b-day is on the 13th of this month....don't want anything but hey it's a marker day to getting older....getting closer to 30....shuddder....and still single...lol oh well, i'll just keep pounding iron and burning rubber. the 16th is an important meeting....the 19th i have english town New Jersey car show.....yeah i'm gonna see the first 2005-2008 mustang and loose it lol....29th takes me to a medical for a county job....car goes into production may 5th SUPPOSEDLY. May 8th is last day of trade school....( my back up to the back up of the back up of my career choices..hey i'm 27, time to get a career and stick with it)...then it's gonna be a long two weeks until i see it!!!!!

you know the bummer of it all....

I had one but an 2007 Cali Special but i had an ex-fiance who cost me it....

wow, thats cruel....making someone leave a message that your car fell off the truck....my dad would do that....maybe he told the guys at otis to tell me that....hmmmm....[sm=yikesomg.gif]

 

I went through 2 cars while waiting for the Mustang... The worst part is I was in Germany and then had to wait for it to get over there... Then again had to wait for it to return home to the USA.
