Default Unplugging the battery

I have that nasty green mildew looking stuff on one the battery connectors. i was told to brush it off and use sand paper to clean it, and to pour coca cola to stop it from coming back. sounds to me like a loud of $**t but i need to try something!!!! Now my question is will unplugging the battery restart the tune i have from brenspeed? And does anyone know how to really stop that thing from growing?

I don't know about the green crap but if unplugging the battery restarts the tune (it doesn't), couldn't you just reload it?

no, it shouldn't

but if you're that worried about it, why don't you just reload stock, disconnect the battery for whatever you're doing, an then reconnect and reload your tune?

oh, and if you figure out how tho remove the positive terminal, let me know, because mine won't come off

Using Coke on the battery posts is one of those ancient secrets that actually does work. No load of crap involved. Or you can just go to the parts store and get some actual terminal cleaner if you so desire. While your there, you couldpick upa battery post cleaning brush for less than 5$ as well. Easier to use than sand paper because its actually made for that job.

Coke works, so does baking soda dissolved in water.
After you get it clean, a thin layer of grease will prevent / slow the return of crud. They sell a spray for anti- corrosion but plain old wheel bearing grease works fine

Disconnecting the Battery should not erase your tune. I mean, if it did, that would mean your CPU was capable of saving the stock tune. I don't think that thing is that complex.

Or buy a battery terminal cleaner designed
for just the problem you are having.

To get that stuck clamp off, they make a
battery terminal puller that does the job nicely.

And for the OP, the "tune" is stored in non volatile memory
that requires power to reprogramm it. The tune cannot
be removed by disconnecting the battery. If it did, Ford
would have a lot of tune reloadin to do for customers
with any form of battery disconnection problems.

If you get ANY of the baking soda solution in the battery,
it could damage it as baking soda is a base.

You know what i couldnt get that Bit** out either so i had to clean around it. So the soda mith actually works huh.. dam I am going to have to try it. Regarding the tune i have to tune it back to stock and then re tune it to 91? or can i just re tune it without going back to stock first. what happens if you re-tune your car eventhough it is already re-tuned? Hopefully I am making sence, sorry if i am not..
