Default Traction

After I got a CAI and Bamachips' 93 race tune, I tend to lose traction and have to be quite careful when accelerating to avoid chirping. You guys think getting 3.73 gears will make this even worse? Would you recommend performance tires before the gear upgrade??

stock BFG T/A G-Force KDWS. From a dead stop, I have to be cautious with the throttle or it will chirp.

as long as you don't floor it you should be fine

when you drive areal car like a mustang, its all about throttle modulation

I don't think you need performance tires b/c your chirping.

I went to 275/40/18 Eagle F1 all seasons from the stock 235/50/18 KDWS andmy hook-up is much better. But you need to lighten that foot... The KDWS is not a BAD tire and easily controllable.

Since no one else has answered this, yes, getting 3.73 gears will make it worse. Gears multiple your torque to the rear wheels effectively adding torque to your car (won't show on a dyno but WILL make it quicker). Anytime you add more torque, the problem will get worse.

Unless you have absolutely no ability to modulate the throttle, you should have no problem with unitentionally chirping the tires. It's not like these cars have the greatest throttle response anyway.

It's just a matter of getting used to the new throttle response, just keep it in mind when the ground is wet. Moreso if you upgrade to 3.73 or 4.10's
