How are the current generation Mustangs holding up using Motorcraft 5w20? Are people getting long engine life using conventional oil?

 

well, I'm not sure anyone has so many miles on these engines that they can verify how long a engine will last using motorcraft oil but I'm sure if the manufacturer recommendes it it's up to snuff. i personally use mobil 1. i love full synthetic and the benifits of it.

 

i use royal purple. its a little bit more expensive but its supposed to add horsepower. plus it looks cool cus its really purple

 

Full synthetic. I use amsoil

 

Currently use Motorcraft factory fill the semi synth 5W20, stock M'craft FL-820 filter. 5 oil changes thus far, 16k miles.

Next oil change I'm going to Mobil 1 5W20, and I have a bunch of FRPP FL-820 oil filters to use.

 

Mobil-1 5-w-30 and Motorcraft filter.

 

Wasn't there a guy on here with an 06' and approx. 110k miles on it? I think he used Mobil 1 throughout the lifespan of the car. Personally I use Amsoil 5w30ASL and Amsoil synthetic filters.

With any full syn oil and changes at 10k miles or less you'll probably get 150k miles or more out of these cars. Depends on the car though. If you get a good one, I don't see why it wouldn't go 200k with any full syn.

If you're really **** about it use blackstone or dyson oil analysis services to see exactly how long you need to go between changes and what is happening inside your engine.

Another Vote for Mobil 1.

 

Using Motorcraft5W20 synthetic blend & FL-820 filter until 10,000 miles, then going ROYAL PURPLE. It's expensive but I think it's the best.

 

Castrol Syntec and K&N filter, since 1000 mile mark.
