JLT QUESTION!!

Default JLT QUESTION!!

ok so i just recieved a jlt intake and it says that i have to have a specific tune or it could result in major engine damage! is the true?? what could happen if i drive with out it.

you'll definitely need a tune with a new cold air kit. with the increased airflow the car will need to be tuned to get the correct A/F ratio going. if you don't the car will throw codes and run like complete butthole not to mention the possibility of damage to the engine.

Yes it's true. Don't install it and not have a tune.

those r totally different animals. u barely gain anything on the 2v's from a cold air but u install a cold air on a s197 and a tune u will gain 20+ hp. i started mine up before the tune and it barely started, stalled out. then i installed the tune and gain 5mph at the track. GET A TUNE

You will most certinaly need a tune. The S197s very specifically need a tune when a new CAI - totally different car than the SN95's

If you install the CAI without a tune, it will not run well at all (if at all). Get a good tune and enjoy your JLT - but DONT install it without one.
