ONE TIME USE FASTENERS
I've been reading information re: the one time use of Bolts & nuts for suspension, among other places. what's you opinion of my getting Grade 8 Sholder bolts, lock washers & nuts? not that I'll be taking them off, but a grade 8 bolt is about the best you can get. i do have all the part numbers if I do have to buy them from Ford, but I would like a bolt & nut comination that is not a one time use item.

Grade 8 bolts are too brittle for suspension use.
Every bolt grade has its use.
The one time use fastner is a frictionself locking type
and if you use blue loctite when reassembling them,
they are as new.
I would use the same grade as the OEM fasteners if
you want to go with regular off the shelf fasteners.
I would not skrimp on the suspension fasteners as its
a mess when they fail at high speeds. [:@]

super grade 8 is about one of the best but their are expensive I have used them for 25 year and never seen one fail. Just make sure all lock washer and nut are super grade 8. The bolts have an oval in the center of the head with 8 points around the oval. Check with APR for the right fasteners a lot of racers used their bolts.
Grade 8s are more brittle than grade 5 or grade 3.
Brittle fastners have no place on vehicle suspensions
or Ford would be using them. But what the hey, its YOUR Stang.

157 is right...
If you have extra stress on a front end, you want the bolt to bend or stretch, so you know something is wrong.
That means: Grade 5.
With Grade 8, it won't bend. It'll just snap off. You'll also know something is wrong, but you'll wreck.
Kinda hard to steer a car when the front wheel is tucked under the floor board[&:].
