Default HID Question. Plz help

I want to install HID lights to my stang. I was wondering if anyone has installed aftermarket HID kits to their cars. Any problems? Ive been quoted 250 with install or pay 1000 for OEM HID from ford. thanks

I have the ford hid's and i had the regular fogs so i switched them with hid fogs and they are supposed to be the equivant brightness but they dont have the lil blocker in front of the bulb so they are way brighter and i love em but they make the ford hids look week ... i would suggest to get after market theyll be brighter and cheaper ....the only problems i had on install where the bulbs bracket didnt fit exactly in so i had to pursuade them to go in but they went in and sealed fine....

check with state laws. the reason ford hids are "weak" is because they comply with laws. aftermarket HIDs are too bright and cops will start to harrass you because of that. ever driven down a street and a car with aftermarket HIDs on are blaring in your eyes? hurts don't it? ford and saleen and every other makes that make HIDs for their cars keep it safe at 4300K.

I have the Stangmods kit and I love it. Stangmods is a great company and if anything is wrong with your kit they will work with you to get it working, even if it means sending you an entirely new kit for free. Sometimes they want the old kit back first (they offer to reimburse shipping,) or they will just send you the new one right away. You also get your choice of bulb color with them which is a good thing. Also, just aim your bulbs properly and it shouldn't be too bad with the glare. They will still glare, yes, but it could be kept to a minimum.
