Default backfiring after Loudmouth install

Perhaps I've not noticed it before due to the muffler, or perhaps the reduction in backpressure is excentuating the issue, but after I put on the LM's today, the loud(er) backfiring was the first thing I noticed. Did you experience similar results with your LM install?

Also, did your tips line up straight? I noticed they don't come perfectly straight out, but rather angle to the sides slightly. I doubt anyone would notice except those of us that messed with it forever trying to get them straight.

Thanks,
/LW

Ive had my loudmouths for 20k Miles and it has done it( to a point)the whole time. By Backfire, i mean it will "POP" like a firecracker from the exhaust ONLY when the engine is cold. When you drive for 1-2 mins it goes away. For me, by the time i pull out of the parking lot, it is enough to not do it. It hasnt concerned me to much, i just make sure that i dont go above 3k rpm when cold for that first min and then it doesnt backfire on the decell. Im not sure if this is a backfire caused because of the exhaust or just exposed due to the ehaust, but ive noticed it. -Jon

Mine pops if i rev to 3500 and let off. Wont do it at 4000 or anything. I kind of like listening to it sometimes, but i woulnd't want it to do it constantly. Its pretty random.. but nothing too bad. Now that you put them on, get someone to drive you car and follow them in somethign else... they sound really good from the outside perspective IMO.

Mine also only pops for a minute or so until the pipes warm up.

Mine popped on deceleration only when I had them.

Then I guess it's not just me.

How about the tips? were you able to get them to center in the cutout and point straight?

My tips line up pretty good. I was under the car messing with the brackets for a long time though. I also check them often and make sure everything is tight.

yeah mine will just pop for like the first minute and that's only when I rev it. which you shouldn't do anyway right after you start the car... but we're all tempted at one time or another.
