Shifter boot

Shifter boot
Is this thing real leather or is it vinyl? I want to get some conditioners on it to soften it up a bit. Seems to be making a lot of noise when it rubs against itself going over bumps. Not sure if I should use Lexol or a vinyl conditioner.

Try this place for a real leather one, mine came from there and I love it. The stock one is actually very thin vinyl.

Cool thanks guys. I'm going to try some vinyl conditioner first and if I can't get it fixed I'll just get a new boot and install it when I order an MGW a few months from now.

I used the above and after a few applications to the vinyl on the shifter boot the squeaking seems to be OK. I'm sure I'll have to reapply it at some point once it gets dry again but for now it seems OK.
It's worth noting you'll want to wipe off the excess after letting it soak in for a while otherwise you'll have dust galore sticking to any surface you use liberal amounts of this stuff on.
