Default Subs?

So heres my question: I was wondering if i were to put a medium size sub boxin the trunk of my car that fit 2 10 inch subs would it slow my car down that much, at the track lets say? Im thinking of a box that went up in the front of the trunk towards the rear seats. I mean i dont need the extra bass bc frankly i like the shaker 500 as it is but, the extra bass is nice bc i had it in my 06. So i was just wondering if it makes that much of a difference at all?

You could take it out if you plan on racing it if you are worried about it. Prob won't add too much weight, but if you are going to be racing it, it might be sliding around a bit.

The whole thing would probably only add like 60-70lbs at most. Consider the effect of having yourwife or g/friding in the car with you and half that.

Its really easy to just take them out though. +1 To it sliding around though, ull need to find some way to brace the box.

TRUE TRUE to all replys, i dont think it would make that big of a difference but if i did want to take it out at the track i could. If anything i could get some velcro strips underneath it to keep it from sliding...

yeah, you need to have it bracketed down...i made the mistake of doing a donut one night and slung my sub box into my amp and broke the RCA jacks off in the amp...had to take the amp apart and remove the jacks...felt kinda stupid after it all happened

Don't put subs in a Mustang.
and why is that? our mustangs are one of the hottest cars on the road and nothings wrong with adding a little flare with a good set of subs.
