Default older gt or newer v6?

so i just sold my jacked up ranger to get something more gas efficient. So i am stuck between 02-04 Gt or 05-07 v6. the newer v6 seems to be quite powerful, but i love the GT sound. Since i got to college, an 05+ GT is out of my budget. I do like the mpg the new v6 offers.
So what do you guy think? help me out here please.

You can make the v6 sound pretty nice with the right exhaust. Add a CAI and tune and you will be very happy. The v6 is a great overall package. I do recommend the pony package, or if your mechanically inclined, adding GT swaybars to a base.. it makes a big difference in handling.

BTW.. there really is not a big difference in mpg between the v6 and gt in everyday driving.

If your only concern in mpg.. I would get the GT.. if you can't afford the base price of the gt or insurance.. the v6 is a great option.

btw whats a good exhaust system for a v6? i know nothing will sound like a v8 but is there anything close?

idk im not a fan of either models. i hate the look of the 02-05 and the v6 in my opinion isnt worth it. if i where in your situation i would get a newer camaro z28 t top. great looking insanely fast for a nice budget

I'd say older GT. Now if it was between the S95 and the S197 V6, I'd pick the new V6. My girlfriend has one and it burns her brother's S95 GT all the time.

Mine

Go to the s197 v6 subforum and you will have plenty to choose from.

Also.. there are a lot of people that have an irrational "fear" of owning a v6 mustang.. get what you want based on your needs.. not just what other people say. Most of the people that don't like the new 4.0s have never even driven one.. let alone one with a few bolt-ons.

S95 is the the one two body styles ago. The S197 is the current 05+ Mustang.
