Default Factory Tint

Alright so this might be a dumb question but just humor me so I installed the moleskin today since I will be getting tint in a few weeks. The tint shop I am going to go to says they just put the new tint on top of the factory tint. The thing I am wondering though is that I have an 05 and is it possible that the factory tint is scratched and I just can't see it bc the tint isn't that dark? I am wondering because I am worried that when put the new tint over it then the tint will look scratched. Any suggestions/comments?

Ok -first off is the glass tinited from the factory or is there aftermarket tint on there already from the dealer? Most glass from the factory has a tint to it to prevent glare and cut some of the rays from getting in the vehicle. It should be fine if you cannot see any scratches on the GLASS and will fill in any areas if there were any micro scratches on an aftermarket tint from the factory. So let the installer put the darker tint on and get a gaurantee from him that it will not scratch, bubble, crack, or peel! Most will do it if they are any good and mine has to do a redo for the scratches as he said it would not happen and did and I did notice a couple of bubbles as well....Hope it helps! J

right now all that is on there is the factory glass and I don't think I can see any scratches but it has been on there for 3 years without any moleskin so even though can't see scratches now worried that once the aftermarket tint is put on over it then the factory scratches will come through

No worries you should be fine and now that you have moleskin the new tint you get applied will be protected. Trust me you are fine... I actually has scratches on the glass itself before aftermarket tinit and they did not show thru and I could see them before the tint....now I cant and they are not showing thru. Only scratches showing are the new ones in the tint itself...and the installer of the tint WILL REPLACE for free!
