RE: Hood struts
I have the MRT's and love them.
They are the same design as the CDC's, so you really can't go wrong with either. The MRT's offer the powder coating, but you could have either painted to match your car at any paint shop. Also, they recommend 2 people install, but I did it myself. Too easy. |

RE: Hood struts
have steedas on mine for almost a year. work great

RE: Hood struts
The only thing I know about them is when
you put the struts on incorrectly upside down and close the hood, it buckles the hood by the hinges and its never the same again. Read the instructions fully before undertaking the job. ;) |

MRTs here. They have been working very well.

RE: Hood struts
I have the ones from Steeda, my friend Stoenr has the ones from MRT. We are satisfied with both. Neither required drilling. However, now that we switched to fiberglass hoods we notice they bow the hood. I have removed mine and gone back to the prop rod until something better comes along. I think Stoenr disconnects one end of the strut before closing his.
Bottom line. They're fine for the stock hoods. Not good for fiberglass goods. |
RE: Hood struts
I have MRT. I lovethem, I had an issue with the passenger side mount to the body moving when I shut the hood. I called MRT, they recommended some double sided foam tape and now, no problems. They look great IMO.
