Default Wet carpet syndrome

Hy everyone, I have a 2008 GT with about 900 miles. It rained today and just for curiosity I went and checked my passenger side carpet. And yes it was wet. Has ford or anyone resolved the problem ?

Thanks to those who reply...

I had the same issue on my 06 GT and the stealership fixed her up for me, at least that is what they told me. I know there is a TSB for this issue, and that is what I took with me to the stealership and handed it to them. When I came and picked up my car, they told me the TSB was exactly what was wrong. I will see if I can find the TSB number for you.

Thanks, I'll try looking around, if not I'll call the dealer next week.

If you tell the dealer the TSB number, which is 07-14-6, they should be able to look it up.

After removing the plastic clips that the wiper cowl sits in, i removed the foam gasket you see in the picture and sealed all around it with clear silicone. My carpet has been dry ever since and I tested it with the garden hose. I only sealed the clips on the passenger side of the wiper cowl. The drivers side is harder to remove because you have to remove the actual wiper arm.

And a closeup showing the foam gasket.

My car had to go back 2-3 times. They finally instead of just doing a fix on the 2nd time. Taking everything the TSB says to do and doing it. There is certain areas to try to fix. They just re siliconed everything.

Mine ended up being a poorly fitting grommet behind the pass. side inner fender well. Fixed it myself in the driveway in under an hour. I did check the cowl area first, but did not have a problem there.
The inner fenderwells are in 2 pieces, you only need to remove the rear piece, I think 2 screws & a few plastic push-pins.
The water drains down from the wiper/cowl area & runs right down onto the grommet.

has Ford resolved the problem?............ no,apparently not, if we both have the leak.I have an 08 with the same problem, found it the day after I took delivery. I took it back to the dealer who said it was fixed. Since then I have a car cover on it and haven't driven it in the rain, so I don't know if it is fixed or not. I have my doubts.
