Default Tire Help Please!!!!!!

I have a set of stock p235 50 zr18(bfgoodrich) on the optiional stock 18" wheels....my question is what is the best and largest tire that will fit on those stock 18's...i want to keep the stock wheels, but i need better traction....all my mods and the 4:10 gear has made an off the line launch ridiculous....major wheel spin at almost every rpm launch.......need to get traction and keep the stock rims....please help with any advice......

thanks

255/45/18 and 265/40/18 fit fine and are spec'd for the 8.5" rim

some have put 275/40/18s on...but they are a bit wide and a 9" is min recommened width rim

275/45/18 are spec'd for a 8.5" rim - but few choices and pricey (250+/tire)

To keep your speedo accurate, use the 255/45's. There are alot of tire choices in that size too.

If you stick with the stock wheels then go as wide as is safe (typically 275's) and as sticky as possible. Also, will they be your street tires? If so, will you need all-season's or summer?I'd look at ratings on tirerack in the category that best describes your style of driving. Tirerack will let you search with those types of options. See my sig. My F1's kick.

Nuke doyou have 275s all around? If so do you have any pics that you could post? I was thinking about the same thing but since I'm lowered I was worried about rubbing in the front.

I had some slight rubbing in the front when I had my Roush front springs and new rims installed (255/45/18 on 18x8.5 rims). There was a little rubbing when I would turn the wheels all the way to the right. I am now running 5/8" wheel spacers all around, and the rubbing is gone.

Hey thanks for the pics, your car looks good with those tires on. That's what they should have came with from the factory. GuessFord was to cheap for bigger tires.I like that front spoiler also.
