Default when upgrading....

what upgrades require tuning of the computer? Im wanting to put a CAI from bbk on my car, but from what im getting, it sounds like on previous posts, i would have to reprogram the computer.

The purpose of upgrades (usually) is to make more power, or to make the engine more effiicient. More air in+more air out = more power.

The air fuel ratio has to be fairly precise. For power, down around 13:1. For emisssions, up around 14.7:1. For fuel economy, up around 15.5:1.

By using the formula above, more air in = more fuel injected. Gotta keep the ratio stable. So, if you make changes that don't require a retune, you havn't changed the equation. You've wasted your time and money.
