Default Polyurethane Engine Mounts

What are the added benefits of adding Polyurethane Engine Mounts to our cars? The kit I bought comes with a tranny mount too.

I just ordered them... so help me justify lol.

I also ordered Summit Coil-on-Plugs

I have them. They were worth every penny. The stock engine mounts allow far too much movement of the engine / transmission assembly which causes problems with shifting. Since the shifter is mounted to the body of the car, too much movement of the engine causes binding under W.O.T.
The polyurethane engine mounts correct this problem. Also by keeping the engine movement controlled you will find that response is quicker and more positive because energy generated by the engine isn't absorbed first by those sloppy stock engine mounts.
I installed these when I still had my stock shifter. The stock shifter worked a lot better with these mounts installed.
They were easy to install too.
The only downside is that you will notice a little more NVH but the other benifits are well worth it.

^^^Thats what I thought... I have started an S197 with these mounts to compare the difference. The car had engine mountsand a set of shorties, and the car idle'd so nice, felt like a muscle car should- I guess thats part of the NVH that you are talking about... I like it, although i didnt drive the car.

I have an auto, and when the tranny downshifts when accelerating, and when slowing down I feel like theresa lot of play (the two piece drive shaft doesnt help either im sure) so I wanted to sure that up a bit. For $160 on Summit, it makes no sense NOT to do it, considering I notice it when I drive. I probably will be installing the set at the same time Ihave ARH LT's installed.

All I can say is that I wish I would have put some in when I did my LTs.

Because doing the LTs provided very easy access to the mounts (i.e. unmounted the whole motor), and it would have been a great time to swap them.

You feel more connected to the car because you can feel the slight feedback in the steering wheel.
