Default Bug Deflectors

I can only find one brand of bug deflector for the 05-08 mustang. Its the Ford accessory part number 5R3Z-16C900-AA.

AutoVentShade and Lund do not make them for these years of mustang. Anyone know of any other than the Ford one?

What I don't like about the Ford bug deflector is that its "clamped" to the leading edge lip of the hood with 4 plastic pieces
and uses 4 set screws that you screw into the pastic pieces that clamp it to the hood edge. I know they also give you 4 pieces
of clear tape that goes on the hood where the plastic clamps go but this worries me in that it could mar/scratch the hood from
vibration and movement from wind flowing over the deflector. Also the set screws, I wonder if they will chip the paint off where
they meet the underside of the hood thus causing problems and/or corrosion.

Anyone with one of these bug deflectors, how is yours? Any problems?

i have one...thought it'd be a good investment to save my good, but it wasn't...i'd rather put a strip of chrome on the hood to look old school or just live with chips, cuz my experience was that it just took all the rocks, sand, bugs, etc. and instead of hitting the front edge, theylanded in the middle of my hood...i can live with chips on the front - you can touch those up and be un-noticeable, but in the middle of the hood -- im gonna hafta paint or do stripes now

Why not look into a clear bra, it'll protect the entire front end.
Look at www.InvisibleMask.com or www.xpel.com or google clear bars to find others.

What part of the Mustand is protected by the bug deflector?
If it's just the leading edge of the hood, do what I do when ever I go on long drives and use the part of the Ford bra that goes onto the front of the hood.
It fits tight, even at high speeds, won't scratch and takes about 20 seconds to put on/ take off.
If you live in the country, with lots of flying bugs, you really might as well get the full bra, as our big front bumper collects them better than an entimologist! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entomology;)
To say nothing about all the chips that the front bumper collects when driving on the freeways.

i hate when i see bugs at night hiting my lights or windshield..pisses me off.....[:@]
IMO, the bra looks ridiculous and the deflectors do too.......if only there was a way to get rid of bugs and rocks and pot holes
