Default Reflashing Computer??

I was reading in another online forum (I don't remember which one), that every time the computer is reflashed, the computer stores it in a certain area, that way the Ford Techs. can tell when, and how many times it has been reflashed. Has anyone heard of this, and if so is there any truth behind it?

Also, is adding the CAI and reflashing worth it? I am planning the mods for my GT, and am trying to figure out which ones I should do first.

Thanks.

OH MY GOD!!! The car is 100% quicker, more responsive, sounds better and feels much quicker through all the gears. The 5-speed will easily chirp 3rd gear, I am getting the Steeda pulleys installed with the MAC mufflers on Monday I can hardly wait, I bought all the parts from www.brenspeed.com his name is Brent, great guy, great job tuning the SCT and he is in Indiana I HIGHLY recommend him for 05 parts. If you haven't installed the SCT tune and the cold air kit, you are really missing out on the cars full potential IMHO

I totaly agree with the fact the car is fast as hell with the CAI and re-flash. Mine had a bad engine when I ran it and mine still picked almost a full second with the CAI and re-flash. My mechanic told me that once you re-flash the computer they can't tell what you did. He said that when you over rev it it sets an over rev code but if you re-flash it before bringing it in they can't tell that you over reved it.

Thanks for the info. td1320. When reflashing the computer, how long does it take to perform, and is it pretty easy to do the reflash. I am not the most knowledgeable on dealing with the cars computer system.

Make sure you read the instructions good and follow them to the letter. It takes about 30 seconds or so for it to complete the first time. After that it just overwrites the current program so it takes less time. You wont have a problem with it. If you want email me when you get it and I will give you my cell and walk you through it the first time if you want.
