Default Sharpie

So I just got back from school for the summer yesterday. Haven't driven the mustang in a while and I felt the need to take it out. Well at one point I noticed a mark on the dashboard. I look a lil bit closer and it looked like a line from a marker or sharpie. There is maybe a 1.5" line on the black part of the dashboard right by the ignition. Does anybody know of anything that could remove this mark??? It kills me to see this mark on my baby. It was an accident from a family member, so it's not vandalism, but I want to get this removed w/out ruining the dash. Someone help!

Maybe lightly rubbing it with a fingernail polish remover pad?

+1...Or Try some Mineral spirits but be REALLY careful because it will take the black right off the dash

Do you think alcohol would take off permanent marker?

Yes. The car stays at home while I am at school. First of all, I don't trust it up there. Second of all, I go to school in Ohio and this cardoes not see the snow. That being said, recently my sis was driving it due to my mom's car being in the shop. I guess she was addressing an envelope and slipped or something w/the marker. Don't ask me how, I am as baffled as you are. So that is how my car got marked up without me knowing about it. What would be the most effective product w/out being too abrasive. If I have to, I would rather start with the weakest solution and progress to stronger solutions. I don't want to ruin the dash piece.
