auto vs 5 speed

The manuals seem to pull about 15 more HPon the dyno. But these autos do haul some *** when tuned, and can probably outshift most manual drivers.

Come on, guys! Let's give him a fair answer.
This has been much discussed, and since most people here love their Mustangs, discussions about the relative merits of the two transmission choices can become passionate. Here's a handy tool you can use to find lots of discussion on this subject: https://mustangforums.com/search.asp
To answer your question about power, there is a slight loss of power to the wheels with an automatic transmission vs. a manual transmission. Some people think the manual transmission is more fun. Some people that drive in heavy traffic don't like having to shift. Some people who run their cars at the track think that the manual is faster because it puts more power to the wheels and you have more control over the shifts. Some people think that the automatic shifts very well, and can shift better than most people with a manual transmission. Some people think "real" sports cars only have manual transmissions.
There's no clear cut winner in my opinion. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Either way, the Mustang's a great car.

EDIT : Actually, I think the previous post sums it up very well.
Yes, please just use the "search" function.
Seriously, I am sick and tired of this question. Too many threads have already gone way too far off-base just with these onestatement "I just want some input on what they feel bout the two.... "
If you have to ask what the difference between the two is, you don't need either one.
