Default Boomtubes - question

So mine are in and work fine but I want to fine tune the fit. Couple questions about how to do that.

If one sticks out further than the other - that requires loosening the midpipe clamp?

If one hangs lower than the other or is pointing off to the side slightly - that requires bending the hangers?

well for starters, if you look at the factory over the ax pipes they are bent to hell from the start so you will never get them to sit correct with out getting new pipes. When i put mine on my driver side pipe was kicked up and a bit rolled. But to get the adjustment you just need to loosen the clamps and adjust it. You also might want to loosen the tubes also so you can adjust them further.

I just wanted to be clear that I have to bend the hangers to fix mine. They stick out about the same but the passenger side hangs lower and points off to the side a bit.

Looks like I won't have to get at the mid pipe to fix that then. Which is what I wanted to verify.

Unless thehanger pins on your Boomtubes were bent already, you shouldn't have to bend hanger pins to center tips properly. I installed mine 4 weeks ago, and got them to sit perfectly in the bumper cutouts without bending anything. First, make sure you have both axle-backs pushed all the way up to the centering nub on over-axle pipe. To center tips, have the over-axle clamps (where boomtubes connect) slightly loose, then loosen midpipe clamps. With everything loose, you should have enough slop in the pipes to move freely. Have someone center tips and hold in place while you tighten up the overaxle clamps first.. then the midpipe clamps. If that fails, I suspect the hanger pins may have been slightly bent and you most likely have to resort to re-bending.

They were just like this out of the box and don't center perfectly. So it will require adjustments.

I guess I'm unclear on how playing with the midpipe is supposed to help me here. They stick out about the same amount from the back of the car. It's that one hangs lower than the other and points to the side a little. Seems to me you're gonna have to mess with the hangers to fix that. But perhaps I'm misunderstanding something here?

it would be easier to loosen the clamps on the AB clamps, and/or the clamps on the mid pipe.
if that doesnt fix it, then you gotta bend the hangers.
but my passenger side sticks out maybe an 1/2 inch more than the drivers side.
even the stock mufflers didnt line up symmetricly, so dont worry if they arent perfect. but they shouldnt be touching the bumper cover.

Mine stick out evenly. One just sits lower than the other and points to the side more. I don't see how adjusting the mid pipe clamp/junction is going to help with that. That's what I'm asking about. Looks to me like you have to bend hangers to fix that sort of misalignment.

if you loosen the clamps at the AB and midpipe, you will be able to move the boomtubes around somewhat into a better alignment, then have a friend hold the boomtubes in that alignment as you tighten the clamps. if this doesnt work then you should bend the hangers. its just easier to loosen and tighten the clamps rather than to take off the boomtubes and bend the hangers then put them back on to check the alignment.

It might be easier if I had jacks.

I guess I'll just wait until I can get a set in that case.
