Well, from this it is hard to tell what is standard and what is not.

I bet it still depends on what model you get as to whether or not you get various things standard or optional.

For instance, on the 2005 V-6's the ABS is Optional. Standard on the GT packages.

 

I just left my dealer and was told that the "My Color" dash option would no longer be available...not a big loss. I also heard the Sonic blue was gone and the tungsten silver was in, as others have stated.

 

Your dealer is on crack. It states on the ford fleet website that the interior upgrade package will include "My Color". Here's the link.

I noticed the red leather option was missing. [:@] I really wanted Tungsten with red interior. Oh well. My brother is going to let me know the minute he gets the 2006 brochures in. Then I can make some changes based on the options and get my 2006 order in first thing on the 16th.

I've given up on my 2005 Satin Silver being built.

How is your car equipped? I've got a Mineral Grey GT Premium M5, IUP, ICAP (Interior Color Appearance Package AKA=Red Leather Interior), Front Seat Side Air Bags, Active Alarm and Wheel Locking Kit. I guess with the Mineral Grey color and ICAP going away in '06 this one will be a moderately obscure combination.

It's a good story how I found it. I got out to this local dealer (30 miles away), in the early A.M. looking to buy the Legend Lime GT Premium M5 they said they had in stock, it was equipped mostly the way I wanted it but had the Bright Cast Machined Wheel option and a Shaker 1000 trunk killer (both of options I really didn't want), but as it turned out the LL GT was still in transit and was due to arrive in a day or two. Needless to say this pissed me off, I thought that I had just wasted a couple of hours locating the car, driving out there with high expectations only to be coming back empty handed. But then my salesman says "But I have good news, I have this car which a customer special ordered about 7 months ago but the deal fell through the night before..." It was sounding pretty good but red leather interior? I had seen a white GT with the ICAP package and didn't really like it much but for some reason I said can I see it?

BTW, Galpin is the largest Ford dealer in the World! Galpin Ford has been ranked #1 by Ford by a LONG margin for the past 15 straight years. They spent about 90 minutes looking for the keys but couldn't find them OR the car! Needless to say I was thinking that this was more B.S. on their part. But what happened was that the lot man pulled the car out the day before to get prepped in anticipation of the car going out as scheduled the day before. But when the deal fell through a salesman on the floor that night hid the car and took the keys with him. That salesman called several people looking for a M5 GT Premium car and was waiting for them to show up to see the car. The salesman then went to "lunch" early in the day for 2 hours and the keys went with him. Well I said get the spare keys and find the car for me to see. So while they were looking for the car on their 22 acres of new car lots I was just walking about and mentioned to my son who was with me on this adventure (as were my wife and 6 year old daughter), hey look at that car, it has the old school Bullet style wheels I like. Then while I was getting the story of how they cannot find the car I said is it the one sitting out in front of the building? My sales guy ran out and looked at the stock number and said that's the car. So off he goes to find the spare keys and open up the car for us to look at. In the mean time my wife has been sitting around cooling her heels (this is VERY BAD! avoid it if possible), and my 6 year old is getting ants in her pants so to say and I say hey, lets go eat at the diner that Galpin has right on the property. They agree and I tell my sales guy where we are off to because we are tired of waiting for them to get it together. The sales manager hears my complaints and says that the meal is on him! So off we go to join my wife and daughter for a very good breakfast for free! Anyway he gets the keys and hustle us out to look at the car I found. My wife and I decided that if we cannot have a fun color (Legend Lime or Windveil blue are vintage fun colors), outside we might as well have a sneaky outside color have the "fun" color on the inside. We agree to buy it on the spot. Then the salesman with the keys comes back from lunch looking for the car to show to two groups of clients who want to buy it. They are crawling all over the car and I tell them that it's sold. Then this other guy goes in and has a fit, blows a gasket on the sales manager and makes no friends in general. I won the contest by writing a check for the full amount on the spot and even bought a LoJack to put them on the trailer so to speak.

Anyway, that's my story of my '05 Mineral Grey GT Premium M5 IUP, ICAP car soon to become unavailable in '06 car. My wife loves, she like to go out and just look at it. Weird huh?

I'm waiting for these parts to come in to be installed all at once on the car.

I'm also waiting for Baer to release the new Plus 2 kit for the '05 GT. This kit uses new 14" 2 piece drilled and slotted rotors with the existing '05 GT's PBR calipers. Works with the factory 17" GT wheels! They said shipping by the end of May. I can do this one myself in about an hour or so.

This should about do it until I can find a decent 3 valve cam and springs to match. Then I'll need to get the heads freshened, new flapless CMCP and intake manifold port matched, ported and polished. At that point I think I'm out of options for an all motor engine car that is comfortable as a daily driver.

 

I hope I get my soon to become obsolete mineral gray M5 deluxe with IUP and Shaker.
