Default Hurst shifter column hot

With the temps rising due to seasonal change, is it normal for the chrome shifter column to get warm or even hot to the touch?

It seems to be normal. After about 30 minutes of driving in the summer, the inside of the car gets really hot. This is both at the shifter and in the driver and passenger footwells.

It's kind of normal. Does Hurst include sound proofing and "heat" proofing? I'd pick up some Dynamat and one of their foam insulator pads to help out. One of the reasons why I went with the MGW because it's such a complete kit. Regardless, just pick up that stuff and it'll help out a lot. My shifter gets a tad hot but not anything bad.
