Boomtubes Installed - Thoughts
Well, I installed them last week, replacing my Flowmaster ATs.
Build/Install:
First off, I must say that the quality of the build/finish of the Flows was quite a bit higher than the quality of the Boomtubes, the chrome finish isn't as nice, there were some minor dents and nicks, and the welds are pretty shoddy. That beings said, none of it is that noticible once they are installed. Also, the fitting was not that great. Once they were installed, the left tip was not centered and I had to remove it and beat the crap out of the hanger with a hammer to get it right. If you looked at it, it was clearly welded on crooked. Once I fixed it though, they look fine on the back of the car, just as good as the Flows (although I liked the tips on the flows better with the Flowmaster Logo and the generally better finish).
Sound:
They are definitely much louder than the Flows when cruising although not that much different at idle. I really like the way they sound at WOT and when just cruising around although they are borderline obnoxious. Overall, I like them though. They definitely get some attention. The only thing I really don't like about the sound is when you're moving very slowly. They kind of make the car sound like a diesel boat, a little too much "chug-a-lug" sound (don't know how else to describe it). Like I said though, I like them overall and I think that the sound quality makes up for the build quality.
I must say though that when people ask me what exhaust I have, I hate saying "Boomtubes" it really sounds like the name of an exhaust that should be on a civic or something. Saying Flowmasters, Borlas, Corsas, etc, sounds alot more grownup...
Anyway, I should have a video comparing the three exhausts (stocks, flows, Boomtubes) in a couple of days. Sorry for the long post, I had given this change alot of thought though and figured I would share my impressions.

My roomate told me he doesn't think they are much louder than the stock exhaust and that he can't hear me when I drive by the house.
Then again I'm not at WOT - just cruising.

once they break in, they're actually pretty quiet. not obnoxious at all, barely audible. maybe i'm just used to them, who knows. not enough noise anymore[:@]

I read on here that the gurgling noise while the car decelerates is normal for straight through muffler deletes.

my pypes mid muffler make the same gurggling, at first i did't like it, now i love it. When you leave it in second to decelerate at a stop sign, it sounds so good and gets a lot of looks too! Who makes the boomtubes, it seems like everyone and their mother have those things.
