Unfortunatly no car cover protects 100% from everything! depends on what you want, if you want a cover for daily use you need one thats easy to put on and take off. the drawback is a little less protection , but they will keep the sun, dust, sap, bird droppings, etc off the car whichare the worstenemy! I got mine from brenspeed ...works good, its soft & compact, easy to use everyday JMO
Any car cover from covercraft is the ticket!... I have the techalon...nice custom cover and it fits nicely .....check it out http://www.covercraft.com/technalon.htm

My original cover (tyvek) only went down to the frame, snugged up, but left half the wheels exposed. Bought another one for a Lincoln Navigator that covers the whole car plus a foot extra all the way around. I weigh it down with patio stones. Total coverage.
do yourself a favor, if you can spring for a metal carport, get it.. I got a brand new car cover i bought at Wally World and its setting in the storage building.. Bad thing about car covers are: i think you would have to wash it before covering the car because your just grinding the dirt, pollen, road crap, bird crap more into the paint.. You'll get sick of covering and covering it..
It will really protect if you wash the car and park it for a while..
I'm a casual driver, so mine don't get driven every day.. I also like just looking outside and looking at it, pollenated or not..
Just my opinion though..

it really is up to you and your use of your car.
Is it a daily driver? Or will it be parked indoors or outdoors for long or short periods?
I use mine all the time, giving the car a dusting with the Calif duster before putting it on. If the car gets excessively dirty after a long drive I may have to do a detailing spray cleaning first. After a few weeks and maybe one or two times of not dusting the car off first (like when I came home with a bunch of groceries and forget to come back to cover the car) the windows will start to get smeared. That means it's time for a wash and time to wash the cover. Mine is machine washable.
