Refinance help
Check with the DMV and see what they say.... give all the facts and be specific as to what you are doing.... I still dont think you have to pay to remove someone from the title.... bank has nothing to gain but remember they have the title to your car so get it worked out ASAP. I am still scratching my head over this esp since you are the owner and he was the co- signer. He just helps pay the loan if you default and if not you both get hit on your credit score was my understanding? You have payed all the payments on it and payed for the taxes the first time right? Try your bank manager/supervisor as well because people do make mistakes... let us know what happens though
yeah, I paid the sales tax and everything. all I did was refinance without him. I know the lady that did my loan, and she apologized she said she didnt look at my registration to see I had a co-signer.
She told me she would help me out and go to the board of equalization [8D]

You probably don't have the title to look at but were both you and your friendlisted as the owner on the registration. Normally if there's a cosigner they have to be listed on the registration also at least inConnecticut they do.If so you may have to pay the tax because like she said it's like he sold it totally to you now and that's where the non relative caught up with you.
