Default twist locks installed

Here are some pics of the functional Ford twist locks I installed on my Mach1 "tribute" car. It took a lot of measuring, but turned out great. My car is finally complete.

My twist locks are from a 71 to 73 Mustang. The ones on the KR are the smaller style that look like they came off the 67 Shelby.

My Fang Shaker hood actually came with them stock. They tended to rattle when i got them, so i just capped them off and theyre on theyre for looks- Functionality wasnt really nesssicery, , i didnt need 4 locks to hold down the hood. Looks good and was wondering if you had any noice from them or mabey i should try something else to get mine to work nicely -Jon

Mine donot make any noiseas springs arealwaysunder pressure when locked.I have seen a Fang hood setup, but cannot remember on how they designed their latches. Mine use the Ford latch plate. The hardest part of this job was figuring out how to mount the latche platesinside the engine compartment. The hood locksdonot come in at a 90 degree angle to the radiator support. My mounts actually had to be attached at 2 different angles.

Any close ups of the mounts and the underside of the hood? I'd like to do somethign similar with the 68 Shelby style locks, but I have no idea how the hardware would mount without having it in my hands.

You can purchase the locks andplatesfrom just about any big Mustang supplier. They are off a 71-73. You have to have the locks with the longer stud. The locks off a 69-70 have a short stud. As far as I know, no one makes a kit to install these on a S197. If someone needs better pics, send me your email address and I will email them to you. Im still on dialup, so it is tough to post good pics here.
