Default Time for a new clutch?

Lately I've seen that when I really get on it and shift hard the rpms hang out a little too high and the clutch doesn't seem to disengage although my foot is COMPLETELY removed from it and the pedal is all the way out? It's just not catching the same as it used to...worried it could be my transmission...but it does it in all gears...so what clutch would you pick and why? My goals are to have a car with 550 rwhp or a little more...not looking to top over 625rwhp for awhile. This is just part of the build I guess[&:]

OH and the car is my DD and will be at the track probably once or twice a month...

If you want to check if your clutch is slipping do a brake torque. If you have alot of power, you might be overpowering your clutch. The car willeventually tell you the clutch has given out. Might just need adjusting.....I don't know if they can be adjusted however. Good luck

Someone once told me another way to check if your clutch is going is to put it in third and dump it. If it stalls it's OK.

Would you take it to the dealer?

I knew mine was done when I did some WOT pulls in 4th and the power just burned right through the clutch and spun the rpms up to 6000+.

I replaced it with an RPS twin friction rated at 600 TQ, their cynrgy flywheel and pressure plate. No problems. It never chattered, vibrated or slipped. The pedal is heavier but I expected that. I'm very happy with it.

There are some really good units out there. Some guys are looking at the Mcloud RST, twin disc that holds 800 TQ I beleive with the same pedal pressure as stock.

I was thinking like Spec 3 clutch maybe? Would I need to replace the flywheel or could I use the stock flywheel?

Holding the Brake down while doing a Burnout = Brake Torque
