I have never been concerned about how many miles per gallon I get in any of my Cars or Trucks. But the prices of gas these day's has me thinking.....Which I don't like to do. Well anyway, having read numerous posts about fuel consumption on this Forum (some of which I doubted), I decided, after three years of ownership, to find out what I'm getting per gallon. I set the trip meter to zero, filled the tank, drove from Brooklyn, NY to Pa. and back 281 miles. (Tried to keep the RPM's no higher than 2500 (not easy to do) filled the tank...10.9 gallons. When I calculated this I found that I was getting close to 26 MPG!!! To me this is unreal for a performance car with 3.73 gears and other mods. Needless to say I'm very happy with these numbers, Anyone else honestly check and have this result??

I've checked mine from Philly to DC and got about 24-25. On average I get about 16-18, of course all depending on how it's driven. I try not to worry about it too much on the Mustang, since I didn't buy it for fuel mileage. I do also have a 1990 Ranger that has 250,000 on it's original engine and trans (great, now I need to find some wood to knock on) that get's 20mpg.

Haven't calculated in a while, but I think I am getting 19 overall. And that is 80% city driving. The freeways in Calgary are so lame. Nobody knows how to merge. Traffic slows down, speeds up, slows down, stops... etc. [:@]

27 is common on the highway. The other day, I decided to see what I could get commuting to work and back (in city traffic). Squeezed 19.5 out of it. 16 to 17 is more common in ordinary (i.e., enthusiastic) driving.

I get 26 - 27 on the highway if I can maintain 65-70 mph which is very hard unless I set my cruise control and pet my right foot to music. In the city, I get 17 - 19 mpg.

All,

I filled her up and drove 200 miles and refilled it up to see how many gallons I actually used. I averaged 18.8 MPG with my HO Whipple. BTW, I did manage to have some fun during this
