Default Build Date...FINALLY!!

I called the 800 number and finally got a build date. It said my car is scheduled to be built the week of 16 MAY. I do have a couple of questions though:

1) Does the 800 number give you the VIN at all, or do I have to wait for my dealer to do that?

2) Does anyone know about how long after the build date it takes for the car to arrive? I live in the Central Florida area and can't wait to get it.

Thanks for any info. you have.

Congrats! Not sure if the 800 number will give you a VIN or not. Mine is still "clean/unscheduled"

I did call my dealer today and they "believe" I should recieve a build date within the next 10 days, and then it would be about 4 weeks after that for me to get the car (I'm in Central NJ)..

The 800 number today gave me the status of "Serialized / Submitted to Plant" - and that's all the information it gave. So I called my sales-dude and he printed out and faxed me the updated order status which included the serial number. No build date indicated though...

Congratulations on a build date! Here in Michigan ours was built on a Saturday and we picked it up on Thursday. We didn't have to deal with being shipped on a train, just had to wait for a truck load coming this way. We didn't get the VIN number till the Monday after it was built. But did have the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment) number the day after we ordered it. The DORA number is easier being only 4 numbers long. Since the VIN is so many numbers for the 800 lady to try to understand.

Stay in close contact with the inventory manager at your dealership; he will provide the VIN# as soon as it becomes available. Your car will be build approximately 3 weeks after you receive your VIN. I ordered mine on 1/22/05 with X-Plan and $1000 deposit and she stayed C/U until I received my VIN on 4/8/05. I received an email from the inventory manager the next day indicating a build date of 4/25. As of yesterday, my car is finished and should be loaded on a railcar and delivered to the Atlanta hub by next Wednesday, May 5.

Good luck!

PS - oops, in case I wasn't clear in my post, the 1-800-Robot Lady won't give you your VIN# (sometimes I have a tendency to ramble).

Badhenry::::

Just a comment about your GT. Very nice color, in the shade of the trees looks very "rich" in color tone.

Black accents look nice as well, gotta say, the more I see the Bullitt style wheels the more I like'em...

Have fun,
Later,
