I haven't made a top speed run since I moved from rural PA 2 years ago...had about a 4 mile straight stretch on the interstate..late at night we would drive the one direction and check for speed traps then run it the other.

I wonder what would happen if u did get caught doing 150+ on a public road??
I was watching Top Gear a while ago and they did a test and at a certain MPH the laser cant clock you cuz u pass by too quick!!!
Dont remember how fast but they tested it and its true!!
Maybe if the cop sees you..... the laser wont!!! "Case dismissed for lack of evidence!!

 

7K rpms huh? Do these cars even make power that high? when your motor goes kaboom I wish you luck in rebuilding it.

 

It depends on the state/county, the cop, your record, the attorney you get, anda variety of otherthings. I've seen 106 in a 60 + speeding to evade arrest result in "exceeding safe speed" and in another county I've seen 96 in a 65 result in a 1 year license revokation.

Back in the day, my uncle got a 150 ina 55. Spent a night in lock up, then paid a fine and went about his business.

I'm not recommending running, but it's hard to catch up to someone if you're at a standstill and they pass you at 160...

 

wow i didnt mean to offend some ppl. i would never have opened her up if there was any kind of traffic around me im not that dumb. i dont have any speeding tickets and i rarely speed and if i do its usually not more than 10 over. there was a concrete barier in between the meadian and i know the area well and knew there was no cops around. i just wanted to c wut it would do and i highly dought i will do that very often. wuts wrong with 7k rpms? brenspeed tunes limiters to 6800 rpms and i set mine a tad higher. i rarely take it that and i dont know for sure wut kind of power its making but at 6700 rpms it makes 308 hp and 252 tq.

 

Even the little bumps in the road at that speed can easily cause your car to loose traction. I use to go that fast on my R6, but there is too many cars in San Diego and the "level two traffic school" for speeding was an indication that I should slow my a$$ down.You certainly need to know what your doing and the car must be build to handle it. Out highways don't come close to the quality of the AutoBann.

Nice, didn't know these stangs can run like that. I have a 3.55:1 but haven't had time to really run it hard (130mph so far), besides I don't trust my 452 tires

 

If you're out in the middle of nowhere, I don't see a problem. All you guys that are giving him crap
for opening her up sound like a bunch of pu$$ies. I was going from Utah to Idaho, we were coming
down from the mountain. I could see formiles. I opened her and buried the needle. Pulled over and
let the wife drive and she got to 135.

I think my biggest pet peeve in here is hearing people "preach". Save it for your kids.
