Default Cam Help

Hey there. I have a few questions about them. Let me back up a bit. I had every intention of having a Whipple HO kit installed when i get back from overseas but i just found out that i am going to be a father!!! I still plan on buying myself a little something when i return and i have been looking at these cams and reading every thread i come across regarding them. I want complete and total streetability out of this car so nothing too radical. It's not my everyday car but when the motor in the 5.0 goes, it might be for a while. I am completely aware of the potential hp gains. I absolutely love the sound also. My questions are:

1) Where can i buy them. I see them on Sutton Performance website but i have no luck contaction them. I left a message but they can't exactly call me back. I looked at Ford Racing's website for these Ford Racing cams and don't see them there.

2) I still intend on getting the SC later on. Will these cams work with the Whipple?

3) Sutton also has a couple other NSR cams. I believe Comp or Crower makes them. Are they any good?

4) I overheard a fella at a local Hooters Mustang Drive In talking about what a nightmare it was dealing with his cams. Something about the phasers. I know the company that installed them. The tune they programed on another fellas turbo'd cobra might have been the cause ofits motor exploding. I took that into consideration when the camshaft conversation came up. Are they that much of an a@$ pain?

5) What are the pros of going with an NSR cam as opposed to a set by say Blow By Racing? Is the spring install labor intensive?

6) Does anybody have a video clip of a cammed S197 in a windows media file? This would be for Morale purposes. A lot of sites are restricted here (no youtube, streetfire videos, or photobucket) and all of your badass mustangs have become red x's![:'(] This and any other incite would greatly be appreciated.

I don't know how long the SC will have to wait. In the mean time i have my hot rod fund that has the following on the list.

Aluminum driveshaft w/ loop.
Upper and lower control arms
Upgraded clutch (nothing wrong with it now just planning ahead)
aluminum flywheel
FRPP chrome cam covers (unless i conjure up the beans to yank 'em and paint them like some folks are)

I need to put these in some sort of order...
Thanks for your help and i apologize about being long winded. Speaking of wind...I hate sandstorms!!!

Vroom-vroom (that may be my first-born's first words!)

Am I doing something wrong? I never can get an image to appear!

Default RE: Cam Help

The FRPP cams have limited availability for right not. You may want to go with the more agressive cams with the Whipple and they require new springs. From what I have learned, it best to have a very reliable mechanic to install them and re-tune the car. The new cams from Ford don't require new springs and are belived to add around 25 additional hp.
