I am going to be buying either the FRPP Stingers or the Corsa Sport Axle Backs for my 2008 GT. Both say that they fit from 2005-2008 MY, but I have read that for 2007 1/2 and newer you have to get different rear hangers. Does anyone have any actual experiance with installing on these MY's? Niether Ford Racing, Borla, or Corsa mention this at all, but Pypes and Brenspeed do on their website. Help!!!

 

I put the FRPP Stingers on my 08 GT/CS and used the hangers provided without any issue. I thought the hanger thing was just a Pypes issue.

 

When you say the hangers provided, you mean the ones that are on the car from the factory. I thought that the only hardware provided with the mufflers were new clamps. How do you like the stingers, and where did you order them from?

 

the replacement mufflers have hangers welded to them, which fit into your current mounts.

 

dont listen to it, i ordered my pypes mid muffler from american muscle and they recommended me to buy new hangers for 50$ so i did, i crawled under the car to put it on and the stock hangers worked fine, i think this was more of an issue on the 07s becuase for cheaped out on one time use hangers...someone correct me if im wrong..

 

What year is yours?

 

If you are torn between Corsa's and Borla Stingers, I would strongly recommend that you find a way to listen to and ride in cars equipped with each. They are different like night and day.....

 

Don't worry about the hangers. I just installed the pypes mid muff on my '08 and the stock hangers were fine. Glad I didn't spend the extra money!

 

The only thing I have is the sound clips. Corsa has some on their website and there are some here for the FRPP Stingers. I actually am leaning towards the FRPP because of the cost.

 

both are great exhaust kits... you can not go wrong with either, however they are both very different... goodluck
