I can see paying 1400 dollars start to finish for a metallic paint or black (dark colored) car because of color matching but there is no paint fade only clear coat. Any 05+ IMO should be an easy match for any color (except metallic) because they are all with a clearcoat on top of the base color. Now if you are adding stripes (like myself) it is definitely justified..... so 450 for the hood, paint costs 50 dollars (for OP) and prep prime and paint (labor) is 900 dollars.....makes sense to me but get some other quotes and check out all of the work from the past on the guy that quoted you 1400 dollars.....did that quote include the price of the hood? If not and it is Ford color maybe it is a tad high but IMO justified if it will turn out "show quality".....you get what you pay for with an experienced and skilled paint and body guy.

It's not that bad a price if a lot of work needs to be doneto the hood and to blend the fenders. Esp. a Trufiber. They are know for poor fits at times. Not counting the blocking that always needs done. The cervini fit was good but not perfect. Mine could still use some blocking.

Cervinis is excellent but Trufiber hood designs IMO are better. The quality and fitment of Cervinis parts IMO is much better than Trufiber.....so I am still torn between the trufiber GTS3 and the Cervinis Ram air type 4?[&:] I have the complete Cervinis C- series kit so I know Cervinis fitment and quality is great!!!!!!!!!
Got to agree with you....i like trufiber style better, so basically you pay a little more in the prep and paint end to get the style you want. Also trufiber does tend to be cheaper. You can get a GTS3 for 650 to your door and i think the Cervini is maybe 50 more....not much really

Yours looks great and if I want the heat extractors in the back I better pull the trigger soon! I admit it is very similar to the GTS hood which I like as well. I think I may keep with the Cervinis theme and put the extra labor money into more performance mods.......J
