I would assume that the cost of a steel stamping die could never be recovered with the low quanities sold aftermarket. To amortize the tooling costs, the hood would cost a fortune.

I had zero problems with paint and prep on my trufiber...my paint guy said it wasn't too bad at all. It cost me 400 to paint and install it, but it's also a very good family friend

fiberglass, imo, is a pain in the **** to prep and paint..plus, it looks bad years before a steel one would....another thing is safety...i would rather be hit in the front with a steel hood than a fiberglass one.......my son , who is 4, rides in my car sometimes.......i know a LOT of you have the cervini fiberglass hoods and etc, but it is already so unsafe you are asked/required to have the hood pins.......i like the way they look, just not there durability in a worse case scenario.....
just wanted to post the question
no need to bash

The only steel hood I know of is this one but it's not cowl induction.

You do know your stock hood is aluminum, right?
Also, hoods provide zero protection in any crash scenario, they are designed to crumple.
If you're deadset on a metal hood pop for the Saleen 281SC aluminum hood (expensive!). Personally, I'd be looking at the Seibon carbon fiber hoods.
