I would assume that the cost of a steel stamping die could never be recovered with the low quanities sold aftermarket. To amortize the tooling costs, the hood would cost a fortune.

^ I`ll assume because the fit & quality of aftermarket fiberglass is questionable at best.
Prep to make it fit is high money. See Trufiber thread on this page. JMO

I had zero problems with paint and prep on my trufiber...my paint guy said it wasn't too bad at all. It cost me 400 to paint and install it, but it's also a very good family friend

fiberglass, imo, is a pain in the **** to prep and paint..plus, it looks bad years before a steel one would....another thing is safety...i would rather be hit in the front with a steel hood than a fiberglass one.......my son , who is 4, rides in my car sometimes.......i know a LOT of you have the cervini fiberglass hoods and etc, but it is already so unsafe you are asked/required to have the hood pins.......i like the way they look, just not there durability in a worse case scenario.....

just wanted to post the question

no need to bash

No site that makes a steel cowl hood sorry! costs to much to make....you can pay to have it done custom at a metal fabrication shop or something but big money IMO..... J

The only steel hood I know of is this one but it's not cowl induction.

http://www.musclecardirect.com/store...roducts_id=824

Foose makes steel hoods too but still not cowl induction.

You do know your stock hood is aluminum, right?

Also, hoods provide zero protection in any crash scenario, they are designed to crumple.

If you're deadset on a metal hood pop for the Saleen 281SC aluminum hood (expensive!). Personally, I'd be looking at the Seibon carbon fiber hoods.
